Raw Unwashed Alpaca Fleece in Ivory for Craft, Spinning and Stuffing - 2nd Quality This Alpaca fleece is from an older Alpaca and therefor is not as soft as our other alpaca fleeces Our selection of wool is excellent for stuffing, felting and for a wealth of crafting projects. All our fibres are sourced from local farms so we can ensure that the animals supplying our fleece have been treated with care and respect. At Newmoor Barn in Devon we produce all of our finished fibres by hand This fleece has been skirted and picked but remains unwashed for you to process as you wish. Alpaca fleece is the natural fibre harvested from an alpaca. It is light or heavy in weight, depending on how it is spun. It is a soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fibre. While similar to sheep’s wool, it is warmer, not prickly, and has no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic. Alpaca is naturally water-repellent and difficult to ignite.
