An exemplary man who, despite his righteousness, was exiled with his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshman. During their exile, Sita was kidnapped by the demon king Ravana after which Rama set out on an epic quest to rescue her, with the help of the monkey god Hanuman. Following numerous adventures, Rama rescued Sita and triumphantly returned to his kingdom, where he was crowned. The event is commemorated with the celebration of Ram Darbar, a symbol of virtue, justice and the victory of good over evil. The four characters in the story are depicted in this composition. Each one is made in matte white porcelain, decorated solely with golden lustre. This combination underscores the masterfully etching, ornamentation and details our artists have recreated.
