Na década de 1940, apenas um punhado de empresas recebeu permissão para fabricar relógios aviadores. Uma delas era o Laco. Os requisitos detalhados estabelecidos para os relógios de observação da Força Aérea Alemã foram formulados pelo Ministério da Aviação sob a classificação “FL 23883”. Este número significava “dispositivos de navegação” e também podia ser visto em cada relógio no lado oposto do Mostrador.
