Description

Très chic!!! This is an original French fashion drawing that dates to the 1950s. It is one of a group of drawings that feature suits for the mid-century working woman. We purchased these in Paris. See more in our shop (or ask about others in the series). The drawing is on heavy stock paper done in gouache, pen and ink, and pencil. It is numbered and it shows a rear view. The drawing showcases a 2 piece suit done in a medium green tone with white patterning. Feminine yet tailored, the suit has a pencil skirt, a peplum style jacket which is nipped at the waist and a single covered button closure with a highlighted design element. There is great posturing, gesturing, hint of attitude and FUN! And note too the side profile of the face, the classic pumps and the red lipstick! The drawing is in excellent clean condition. 7.75 x 12 inches in size. Comes matted in a netral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
