Description

We don't want to confine birds anymore, but the delicate old cages are sculptural and fascinating. This little rectangular one by Osborn (then located on Hudson Street in NYC!!) was made in the late Victorian period, probably for finches. It has the original wood swing at the top as well as two wood perches. The slide bar works. We have polished it, and then let it revert to it's old patina; there are some dents along the bottom of the tray and a few wires are unattatched at the bottom, but it in excellent condition for it's age. A sentimental (if empty) and artful piece of the past. There is a chain attatched for hanging. or it can set anywhere.
